Well, I had a true Barn Babe day yesterday or I would have had this voting script up earlier (like 24 hours ago).

I had to take a puppy whose head looked like it was going to explode (abcess) to the vet in Santa Fe. She is now thankfully on the mend, although she looks like a canine Frankenstein (dare I say Frankendawg? Frankenheeler?). The transmission on my car died, and is now irrevocably, very very dead and in the process of being replaced to the tune of $ ... I don't even want to think about that one right now. And then the horse vet had to come out too and look at our lame Andalusian horse Caprichosa, who I now understand needs only physical rehab for a muscle injury (This one's had me laying awake at nights with worry, and I'm very relieved). I fell into bed promptly at 8:30 PM.

Here are two of my barn chore looks, I'm from Saskatchewan, Canada and it can get down to -40 C plus a windchill so you always have to bundle up to keep warm. I wear both lined and unlined carharts, although I must admit it's pretty hard to ride in the lined ones (or more like pretty hard to get my leg up there!). I usually have a never ending supply of shirts and sweatshirts on underneath my jacket as well.

Molly in Mexico blogs over at holamole. She lives beachside. I think we need a road trip down to sunny Mexico to hold her camera for her!

I finally remembered my camera but was just in time to not find anyone around to click the shutter other than those with claws and hooves. I'll keep trying.

They are 2 versions of the same basic outfit - otherwise known as "Summer in the barn in Sacramento is really frigging unreasonably hot!" - and I have only varied them so that you can see how handsome and sexy my quarter horse, Mojo, really is, despite the company in which he finds himself.

What do you wear when you are in the barn doing your every day chores, and no one else is looking? (Except your horse, of course.) I am particularly fond of my Carhartt coveralls and my hat with the big snuggly warm earflaps.
